What Is the Fandango Settlement About?
The lawsuit alleges that Fandango failed to timely disclose a mandatory convenience fee on certain online movie-ticket purchases and violated consumer laws in connection with FanClub membership benefits that expired after 30 days. Fandango says its disclosures and practices were lawful.
How Much Is the Fandango Settlement Payout?
Benefits depend on class membership:
- Convenience Fee Class: $3.25 cash after a valid claim, or a $3.25 voucher automatically if no cash claim is filed.
- FanClub Class: an automatic $7.50 voucher.
- Members of both classes receive both benefits: either $3.25 cash or voucher, plus the $7.50 FanClub voucher.
Convenience-fee vouchers expire three years after issuance; FanClub vouchers do not expire. The official site lists additional redemption restrictions.
Am I Eligible to File a Claim?
A cash claim is available only to Convenience Fee Settlement Class members. You must have paid a convenience fee through Fandango for tickets to a California theater during the stated period and not be subject to binding arbitration. FanClub members do not need to file to receive their voucher.
Is the Fandango Settlement Legit?
Yes. The Superior Court of California for San Diego County is overseeing the settlement. Epiq runs the court-authorized site and claim process.
When’s the Claim Deadline?
Submit the Convenience Fee Class cash-election claim by August 17, 2026. The final approval hearing is scheduled for August 7, 2026. If you do nothing and remain in the class, the posted settlement terms provide an automatic voucher rather than cash.
Who Qualifies for the Fandango Settlement?
The settlement has two different classes with different states, dates and products. A person may belong to one or both. The convenience-fee class relates to California theater tickets; the FanClub class relates to memberships bought by California or Washington consumers.
How Do I File a Fandango Settlement Claim Form?
To choose cash for a convenience-fee benefit, use the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from the email notice. If those credentials are missing, use the official account-email lookup tool or contact the administrator. FanClub-only members do not file a claim; keep the Fandango account email current so the automatic voucher can be delivered.
