Dr. Squatch Natural Products Class Action Settlement
What Is the Dr. Squatch Settlement About?
The lawsuit challenges natural claims on Dr. Squatch product labels. Plaintiffs contend that certain ingredients were synthetic and that the labeling misled buyers. Dr. Squatch disputes those allegations and has not admitted liability.
The parties reached a proposed settlement to resolve the labeling claims without continuing to trial. The case concerns representations about the products' naturalness; the settlement notice says personal-injury and product-liability claims are outside the defined release.
How Much Is the Dr. Squatch Settlement Payout?
The settlement starts with a base payment of $0.50 for each eligible product claimed:
- Without receipts: up to five products, for a base payment of $2.50.
- With qualifying receipts: up to 20 additional products, for a base payment of $10.
- The two categories can be combined in one claim, allowing 25 products and a base payment of $12.50.
These are calculation amounts, not guaranteed final payments. Awards increase or decrease proportionally depending on valid claims and the money remaining after approved attorneys' fees, costs, administration expenses and representative awards. Each household may submit only one claim and is subject to one set of limits.
The $9 million fund pays both class benefits and approved settlement expenses. Payments may be issued by check or available digital methods after approval becomes final and the settlement takes effect; no payment date is currently guaranteed.
Am I Eligible to File a Claim?
You may qualify if you bought a covered Dr. Squatch product in the United States from November 1, 2018, through August 29, 2026, and did not opt out. Covered products are products manufactured, sold or distributed by Dr. Squatch bearing natural wording on their labels.
Examples include its covered men's bar soap, body wash, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, beard oil, cologne, face wash, hand soap, lotion, lip balm, toothpaste and wipes. Check the full product list in the official FAQ or Exhibit C to the agreement before including a purchase.
Resale purchases are excluded. The agreement also requires you to certify that claimed purchases were not for commercial use. A third-party retail receipt, including an online receipt, must establish the product purchase and date to support the documented portion of a claim.
Is the Dr. Squatch Settlement Legit?
Yes. The Superior Court of California for Los Angeles County preliminarily approved the settlement and authorized notice in Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC. The administrator operates PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com and the linked claims portal.
The final approval hearing is scheduled for March 2, 2027, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time in Department 11, 312 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles. Claimants do not need to attend to receive an approved payment. Check the official site for changes.
When’s the Claim Deadline?
The online claim portal states a deadline of November 27, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Mailed forms must be postmarked by November 27, 2026.
The separate objection and exclusion deadlines were October 13, 2026. Doing nothing does not produce a payment. Class members who remain in the settlement are subject to its release if it becomes final, even if they do not claim.
Who Qualifies for the Dr. Squatch Settlement?
Purchasers across the United States can qualify; a California address is not required. Eligibility depends on the product, label and purchase period. Receiving or using a product without buying it does not itself satisfy the purchaser definition.
The exclusions cover resale purchasers, specified Dr. Squatch-related parties and their immediate families, the assigned judges and their immediate families, and valid opt-outs. A household means everyone residing at the same physical address; coordinate one accurate household claim.
How Do I File a Dr. Squatch Settlement Claim Form?
